This Privacy Policy governs the ZIP File Creator mobile application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently and securely.

1. Local On-Device File Processing

ZIP File Creator operates strictly on your local device. All archive creation (ZIP compression), extraction, folder hierarchy processing, and entry inspection tasks are performed locally on your device hardware.

None of your personal files, document contents, archive names, or folder structures are uploaded to external servers, transmitted over networks, or accessed by us.

2. Android Permissions Used

The App requests only necessary permissions to perform file management functions, display advertisements, and deliver push notifications:

Storage Access Framework (SAF)

The App uses Android's Storage Access Framework (ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT, ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT_TREE, and ACTION_CREATE_DOCUMENT). This allows you to pick specific files and destination folders securely without granting dangerous broad storage permissions (such as legacy external storage access).

android.permission.INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Used to verify network availability for app maintenance status checks, in-app updates through Google Play Core, and ad serving via Google AdMob.

android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Requested on Android 13 (API level 33) and higher so the App can notify you when long-running archive compression or extraction tasks finish.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertising

To keep the App available free of charge, we integrate standard, verified third-party SDKs that may collect technical telemetry and advertising identifiers in accordance with their privacy policies:

Google AdMob (Google Play Services): Serves contextual or personalized advertisements. AdMob may process advertising IDs (AAID), IP addresses, and general device info. Google Privacy Policy.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR)

Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect, request, or solicit personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information through a third-party SDK or notice channel, please contact us immediately. Upon notification, we will take prompt steps to delete any such information from our records.

5. Data Security & Retention

Because your files remain entirely on your device, you retain full ownership and control over your data at all times. App configuration preferences (such as dark theme settings or default compression levels) are stored locally in private app storage on your device and are removed when you uninstall the App.

6. Your Data Rights & Choices

Depending on your location (e.g. EU GDPR or California CCPA), you have rights regarding your personal data:

Ad Personalization: You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising identifiers at any time via your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
Notification Controls: You can revoke notification permissions at any time via system app settings.
Storage Access: You control which files and directories the App can access through the Android system picker.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect updates in functionality or legal requirements. Revised policies will be published within the App and updated on our store listing page.
