Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 24, 2023 | Last Updated: October 24, 2023

This Privacy Policy applies to the Stopwatch Timer mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the "App"). We are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting any information processed through the App.

1. Information We Collect & How It Is Stored

Local Data Storage: Stopwatch Timer is built with user privacy in mind. All your timer history, lap recordings, custom titles, notes, and preferences (such as theme and language settings) are stored locally on your device using an encrypted local database (Room) and local preferences. We do not store or transmit your personal timing history to external servers.

Export/Import Functionality: If you export your session data, a JSON file is saved locally to your device's designated directory. You retain complete control over these exported files.

2. Android Permissions Used

The App requests specific Android device permissions necessary to perform its core timekeeping functions:

POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+)

Required to show active timer and stopwatch progress bars in your device status bar, allowing you to control timers from your lock screen or notification panel.

VIBRATE

Used to provide haptic feedback when tapping buttons, marking split laps, and alerting you when a countdown timer finishes.

INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Required to load non-intrusive advertisements (Google AdMob), deliver important push notification announcements (OneSignal), check for maintenance updates, and verify app connectivity.

3. Third-Party Services & SDKs

To support app maintenance and ad delivery, the App integrates third-party SDKs that may collect technical and device identifiers in compliance with their privacy standards:

4. Children's Privacy

Stopwatch Timer is designed as a general-audience productivity tool suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). If you believe that a child has provided personal information through our third-party ad services, please contact us immediately so appropriate measures can be taken.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical precautions to safeguard your application preferences and local data. However, as local data resides on your physical hardware, we recommend keeping your device protected with a passcode or biometric lock.

6. Your Data Rights & Deletion

Because your stopwatch sessions, laps, and app settings are stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data. You can delete individual timing sessions or clear all saved data anytime directly from the App settings or by uninstalling the application from your device.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be published on this page with a revised "Effective Date" at the top.
