Depending on how you use the app, Photo Translator may process different types of information.

Photos and Images

If you use the camera or select an image from your device, Photo Translator processes that image to recognize text.

Images selected for OCR are not intentionally uploaded to a Photo Translator server by the core OCR functionality.

Extracted and Translated Text

Text recognized from your images may be displayed, edited, translated, and saved in the app's local history.

Saved text is stored locally on your device unless you explicitly use a sharing feature or another feature that requires network communication.

App and Device Information

Third-party services integrated into the app may process certain technical or usage information. This can include information such as app version, device-related information, advertising identifiers, diagnostics, network information, and interaction data, depending on the service and your device settings.

02 Camera Permission

Photo Translator requests camera access only when you choose to capture a photo for text recognition.

Camera access is optional. You can choose an existing image from your gallery instead.

The app does not use the camera continuously in the background.

03 Text Recognition

Photo Translator uses Google's ML Kit Text Recognition technology to recognize text in images.

Depending on the functionality and device configuration, text recognition may be performed on the device. Recognition results are then made available to the app for editing and translation.

04 Translation

Photo Translator uses Google's ML Kit Translation technology for supported translations.

Some translation language models may need to be downloaded before they can be used. Translation availability can vary depending on the selected languages and device.

05 Internet Access

The app may use an internet connection for features and services that require network access, including supported translation functionality, advertisements, app updates, notifications, diagnostics, and other third-party services integrated into the application.

The availability of offline functionality depends on the selected feature and downloaded language models.

06 Advertising

Photo Translator may display advertisements using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).

Google and its advertising partners may collect or process certain information for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, and related purposes. The information processed may include device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location, app interaction information, and other information permitted by applicable settings and policies.

07 Notifications

Photo Translator may use notification services to provide notifications when enabled.

09 Local History

When you save a scan or translation, the app may store the associated information locally on your device so you can access it later through the History section.

You can delete individual history items or clear your saved history using the controls provided in the app.

10 Sharing

Photo Translator allows you to copy or share extracted and translated text using other applications installed on your device.

When you choose to share content, the information is transferred according to the receiving application's functionality and privacy practices.

11 Data Retention

Information saved in the app's local history remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app's data, uninstall the application, or otherwise remove the stored information.

Third-party services may retain information according to their own retention policies.

12 Data Security

We take reasonable measures to design the application with privacy and security in mind. However, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13 Children's Privacy

Photo Translator is not specifically directed toward children under the age required by applicable law.

We do not knowingly request children to provide personal information through the application.

14 Your Choices

You can control several aspects of the app through your Android device and application settings.

• Allow or deny camera access.
• Allow or disable notifications.
• Delete saved scan and translation history.
